Mary Chris Skeldon
Senior Public Relations Consultant
Mary Chris Skeldon joined the Funk Luekte Skunda team in February 2007. Her work focuses on the firm’s existing and new clients on issues communication, crisis management, public involvement, ballot issue campaigns, plus speechwriting and other executive communications projects.
Prior to FLS, Mary Chris served as spokesman and speechwriter to Mayor Carty Finkbeiner from 1995 to 2001 and Mayor Jack Ford from 2001 to 2005. She was Chief Press Officer and assistant clerk of Toledo City Council from 2005 until her retirement from the City on December 31. During her 30-year public career, she also was Toledo’s Recycling Coordinator (1990 to 1995) and Public Information Officer for Toledo City Parks (1985-1990). She held various positions with the City’s Division of Parks and Recreation from 1970 to 1985.
Mary Chris holds a B.S. degree in Political Science and Communications from the University of Toledo. She is a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and a 2006 inductee into its Hall of Fame. Her community involvement includes women’s health advocacy and programs supporting the arts. She is a member of the American Cancer Society board of directors, the Susan B. Komen Foundation grants committee, and Citifest.
